In the south, including Sicily, the landscape shifts again. Warmer conditions, volcanic soils, and coastal breezes give rise to wines that are generous yet increasingly refined. Indigenous varieties and old vines play a significant role here, with a growing movement toward minimal intervention and a renewed respect for traditional farming practices.

Italy’s strength lies in this diversity, with each region offering its own interpretation of balance, structure, and drinkability. It is a country where tradition continues to evolve, producing wines that are both deeply rooted and continually reimagined.
