Claus Preisinger is at the forefront of the natural wine scene in Austria and for good reason. Claus started making wine with his father as a hobby in the city of Gols, Burgenland and completed his first vintage in 2000.
Since then, Claus has gone on to help found the Pannobile group of winemakers, a group that uses respect and appreciation for the land to preserve traditions of Burgenland. He was also one of the first winemakers in Austria to experiment with skin contact and Georgian amphora aging.
Claus Preisinger’s philosophy is simple ‘to produce wine that is pure, balanced and speaks of terroir’. Claus is also certified biodynamic and works strictly in line with Steiner philosophies.
