Meet the region

Veneto

Located in northeastern Italy, Veneto spans from the foothills of the Alps down to the Adriatic Sea, encompassing a wide range of climates and landscapes. This diversity allows for an equally broad mix of wine styles, from light, everyday drinking wines to more complex and age-worthy expressions.

In the hills around Verona, Valpolicella is a key focus, where local varieties such as Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara produce wines that range from bright and lifted to deeper, more concentrated styles. Techniques such as appassimento, where grapes are partially dried before fermentation, are used to create richer wines like Amarone, known for their intensity, texture, and depth.

Beyond Valpolicella, Veneto is also home to a wide array of white wines, including Soave, where Garganega produces wines that are fresh, mineral, and subtly textural. Across the region, there is an increasing focus on site expression and a move toward more considered, lower-intervention winemaking.

While Veneto has long been associated with volume and accessibility, a growing number of producers are redefining the region’s identity, focusing on quality, vineyard specificity, and more transparent expressions of traditional varieties.

Veneto offers a dynamic and varied wine landscape, where classic styles continue to evolve, producing wines that range from simple and refreshing to complex and deeply expressive.
