Alkina’s work centres on biodynamic farming and a deep understanding of soil and site, with winemaking that often incorporates ceramic eggs to build texture and purity. Tom Shobbrook, on the other hand, embraces a more experimental and expressive approach, crafting natural wines that remain precise, considered, and grounded in quality.

This duality defines the modern Barossa. Alongside its historic depth and power, there is now a growing emphasis on transparency, energy, and site expression, resulting in wines that are both rooted in tradition and reflective of a changing Australian wine landscape.
