Texture Like Sun is a carefully assembled field red blending 38% Pinot Noir, 31% Grenache, 15.5% Gewürztraminer and 15.5% Pinot Meunier. The fruit was harvested over three months from vineyards across the Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale, then matured for 90 days in seasoned French oak.

The palate opens soft, supple and lusciously red before fine tannins gather everything into shape. Damson plum, cassis and cigar box roll through the wine, bringing juicy fruit and savoury complexity to its long, fleshy finish. At just 11.8% alcohol, it is vibrant, versatile and extraordinarily drinkable.

Take it to a picnic by the riverside, pour it at a serious dinner or enjoy it anywhere in between. The bright yellow label may be as difficult to stare at as the sun, but the wine itself could not be easier to drink.

About the Winemaker
In the Adelaide Hills, Amber and the team at Ochota Barrels creates wines that honor the memory of founder Taras Ochota, continuing his vision under the stewardship of Amber, Yari, and Louis.

These are wines born of intuition - grapes picked when they're irresistibly delicious, guided by natural acidity and wild fermentation. Old bush vines in living soil produce concentrated fruit that speaks for itself through minimal intervention winemaking.

Following Occam's Razor, they believe simplicity reveals truth. The result: gorgeous, authentic wines with none of the nasties and all of the love—a celebration of place, season, and the human spirit that tends the vines.
