From the Bonnes Blanches vineyard on the left bank of the Layon River, this single-vineyard Chenin Blanc captures the character of one of Domaine Mosse’s most prized sites. The vineyard faces north-east and sits on schist bedrock, with silt soils scattered with the small, rounded pebbles known locally as “bonnes blanches.” These conditions consistently produce Chenin Blanc of remarkable complexity and impressive ageing potential.

The 2023 growing season brought its share of challenges. A cold, windy and wet spring delayed the vines, with flowering not beginning until mid-June—later than usual. This slower start, followed by a hot and stormy summer, helped shape a vintage with slightly lighter alcohol than is typical for this wine, lending it a fresh and finely balanced profile.

The grapes were directly pressed, with the juice first settling briefly in tank where fermentation began naturally. After around 36 hours it was transferred to barrel to complete fermentation, before ageing on lees for 10 months without bâtonnage. The wine was bottled unfiltered in July 2024, preserving the purity and texture of this distinctive vineyard expression.
