About The Wine
Appearance: Light straw, green hue and brilliant clarity.
Aroma: This distinctive Macedon ranges chardonnay bursts from the glass with white florals, mineral notes, lemon and grapefruit pith. Hints of lees are complexed with toasty oak notes. The perfume is persistent and intriguing, pure, yet complex.
Palate: Grapefruits and limes spill immediately onto the palate. Zesty sherbet acidity provide focus and length, with flicks of mineral notes. A concentrated palate is long and intense yet continually develops, whilst grapefruit pith phenolics add further complexity and structure.

A classy chardonnay strutting its cool-climate credentials with aplomb. Flinty, fine and pure; long and persistent across the palate. It teases out citrus, woodsy spices and lemon curd flavours yet sits comfortably in a savoury zone. It’s moreish and irresistible in equal measure.

About Shadowfax Wines
Established in 1998, Shadowfax is a family-owned boutique winery located in the heart of Werribee Park. It is headed by Chief Winemaker Alister Timms, who leads the small and innovative winemaking team. Shadowfax has a strong focus on regionality with fruit produced from its vineyards in the Macedon Ranges as well as their own Minnow vineyard in Werribee. Renowned wines include chardonnay and pinot noir as well as a selection of single-vineyard releases and unique French varieties. Their flagship Little Hampton vineyard in Macedon is planted on deep red soils over hard sandstone and quartz reefs and sits at 720 meters altitude. This unique combination gives the pinot noir its distinctive rose hip and violet aroma with grown tannins and flourish on the palate.
