Jean-Pierre Robinot

Before returning to the land, Robinot was a central figure in Paris’s early natural wine movement, running one of the city’s first natural wine bars, L’Ange Vin, and co-founding the influential publication Rouge et Blanc. In 2000, he and his wife Noella returned to his childhood village, assembling seven hectares across ten small parcels near Tours and Le Mans.

The family farms Chenin Blanc alongside the rare local variety Pinot d’Aunis. Fermentations are slow and entirely natural, often lasting more than a year, with wines resting patiently in hillside cellars for up to five years or more before release.

The result is a body of work that stands among the Loire’s most soulful and age-worthy: wines of quiet power, singular identity, and extraordinary longevity.

How are these wines made?

Yes. Jean-Pierre Robinot is part of Act of Wine's curated Natural Wine collection. Which Jean-Pierre Robinot wine should I start with?

If you're new to Jean-Pierre Robinot, start with the bottle that best matches the style you already enjoy. If you're unsure, get in touch and we'll happily point you toward the best place to begin.

Are these wines good for gifting?

Absolutely. Jean-Pierre Robinot makes an excellent gift for anyone who enjoys discovering thoughtful, small-batch wines. Add a greeting card at checkout and we'll make sure no pricing information is included in the parcel.

How should I store and serve these wines?

Store bottles somewhere cool, dark and stable. Serve whites, sparkling and lighter reds chilled, and give fuller reds a gentle cool-down rather than serving them too warm.
