2019 'Cardinalice' Châteauneuf-Du-Pape

This exceptional cuvée is elaborated from a selection of old Grenache vines. The winemaking, thanks to the use of stems and gentle extraction, reflects the noble aspect of our work: an explosive bouquet with gentle and feminine aromas (floral notes of rose, small seeded fruits), with a smooth and soft sensation on the palate. Cardinalice is an aerial wine, full of fragrance, surprising by its finesse and elegance.

Serving temperature between 16-18°Cs. 

Situated at the heart of the Rhône Valley, close to the famous papal city of Avignon, Château Gigognan encompasses vines in a landscape of rolling hills, parasol pines, olive trees and pebbles. 

The wines are made, aged and bottled on site. Gigognanharvests low yields and places special emphasis on each individual vineyard and the specific grape varieties grown there.

The soil ranges from sand and limestoneto the rocky soils studded with galets so common in Chateauneuf-du-Pape. 

Quality and environmental responsibility are the driving forces behind the estate, which sees each vine managed with respect and in line with the natural rhythms of the terroir.

The vineyard is worked with thoroughness and precision on a daily basis, as shown, for example, by the cereals grown between the rows of vines to offer them a protective cover of vegetation.
