Alan and Nelly Cooper are trail blazers in the truest sense of the term, arriving at their block of land, backed up into the Cobaw State Forest in 1981 - nothing but a few roo's hopping about, no vines, no house, no electricity and no running water. A blank canvas to do it their way, by hand, slowly, deliberately, and unwavering in approach! A philosophy which has endured and remained steadfast in a quickening world of instant gratification. Vines were first planted in 1985 on own roots, with this release marking the 37^th from the estate, and the 17^th year of organic and biodynamic certification.

Nestled at 610m above sea level on the Cobaw Ridge, overlooking Central Victoria, the vines grow deep in the granitic mountain soil and work hard to produce grapes of superb balance. The marginality of this special site and the Cooper's commitment to sustainable and natural production ensures these are truly unique wines of place and time; No additions, fining, filtration or stabilisation are inflicted on the wine, other than, minimal sulphites just prior to bottling.
