About The Wine

The four Montmain parcels are dotted along a clay hillside, with few pebbles. This is a cool or cold climate, depending on the year, and is known to be susceptible to spring frosts. The wines of Montmain are particularly fine and balanced with notes of citrus or white flowers in their youth, depending on the vintage. - Guillaume Gicqueau-Michel

"Mid lemon yellow. Here the fruit is already a little more prominent, with apples on the palate and a little cooked lemon. The stones are properly apparent, in this middleweight Montmains with a fine dry finish. Drink from 2025-2030. Tasted: June 2023."

About Louis Michel

There are few growers more infectiously enthusiastic than Guillaume Gicqueau-Michel of Domaine Louis Michel. With his humour, charm and deep connection to his vineyards, Guillaume champions one of Chablis’ most exciting and terroir-transparent domaines.

The family has grown grapes here since the 1850s and, since the 1960s, has vinified everything in stainless steel—there isn’t a barrel in sight in the spotless winery in the heart of the village. Guillaume likes to let the vineyard do the talking, and it’s here where you see the master at work. Year in, year out, each Cru is expertly represented in bottle, and tasting the wines side by side paints a clear picture of Chablis’ complex tapestry.

No minimums - we love orders of all sizes. For packaging reasons, quantities of 7 or 13 aren’t ideal, but we can still make them work if needed.

What is your heat policy?
