About Domaine des Malandes

Nestled in the heart of Chablis, Domaine des Malandes embodies a remarkable fusion of family tradition and pioneering spirit. Founded in 1986 by Lyne Marchive and her husband, this estate traces its viticultural roots to the 1940s and 1950s, when Lyne's family, the Tremblays—a venerable name in Chablis—strategically acquired vineyard land by trading agricultural fields for premium sites, often receiving two hectares of vines for each hectare of wheat-suitable land.

Lyne managed the estate from 1972, later partnering with oenologist Guénolé Breteaudeau to elevate their winemaking. Her firm vision centered on maximizing the expression of Chablis's distinctive Kimmeridgian soils across their 27 hectares.

Today, Lyne's children Richard Rottiers and Amandine Marchive continue this legacy with renewed purpose. Since taking control, they have embraced organic viticulture, achieving certification in 2022, while preserving the estate's founding philosophy of pure terroir expression through meticulously crafted Chardonnay.
