About The Wine

Fugazi - where it all started back in 2008. A wine that is famously named after the music that was playing in the Kombi van the first time Taras and Amber visited the site. Bush vines grown on ironstone interspersed through red clay in Blewitt Springs - now nearly 80 years old.

Handpicked in mid-February crushed and left on-skins for three weeks before being pressed to old French barriques.

A nose of red currants and satsuma plums, red berries follow on the palate, fine tannins balance the fleshy weight of a long finish with flourishes of persimmon and red berries.

In the Adelaide Hills, Ochota Barrels creates wines that honor the memory of founder Taras Ochota, continuing his vision under the stewardship of Amber, Yari, and Louis.

These are wines born of intuition - grapes picked when they're irresistibly delicious, guided by natural acidity and wild fermentation. Old bush vines in living soil produce concentrated fruit that speaks for itself through minimal intervention winemaking.

Following Occam's Razor, they believe simplicity reveals truth. The result: gorgeous, authentic wines with none of the nasties and all of the love—a celebration of place, season, and the human spirit that tends the vines.
