Pure free-run Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon Sensual comes from the vineyard in Totness in the Adelaide Hills, where 30-year-old, cane-pruned vines grow in black sandy soils over petrified schist. The vineyard is farmed organically and the fruit is carefully harvested by hand.

Whole bunches were gently pressed, with only the delicate free-run juice selected for this wine. It was naturally fermented and aged entirely in ceramic eggs, allowing the purity and character of the vineyard to remain at the centre without any influence from oak.

Made with zero additions and no added sulphur, it was bottled unfined and unfiltered. This is Sauvignon Blanc stripped back to its essentials, shaped entirely by healthy fruit, wild fermentation and a beautifully hands-off approach.

About the Winemaker
When we think of natural wine in Australia, one of the first names that comes to mind is Anton van Klopper – and for good reason. Operating from a relatively small estate in Basket Range, South Australia, Anton meticulously tends to his 14-hectare organic farm, which is home to four hectares of vines and a hectare of vegetables in Basket Range, plus a leased four hectares nearby in Totness.

Anton crafts wines renowned for their complexity, raw authenticity, and uncompromising character. And that's just how we like them! 

Anton approaches winemaking exactly as you'd hope: the antithesis to mass production. His philosophy encompasses every stage of the process - from organic farming and meticulous land stewardship to hand-harvesting fruit, wild yeast fermentation, and zero additives. His commitment to purity extends even to distilling his own alcohol for winery cleaning, eliminating any need for harsh chemicals throughout the entire operation.
