About The Wine

Profile: Stone fruits, citrus, subtle hints of sliced pear, fresh crisp acidity with a savoury grippy texture across the palate to complete.

The Site: Hudson Vineyard, Hilltops, NSW. The vineyard site sits at 560m altitude, located just south-west from the township of Young. The cool climate region provides warm days and cool nights during the ripening period, which helps retain natural acids in the wine.

Winemaking: Fruit was picked in the early morning, then cooled for 16 hours to increase the texture and phenolics in the wine before being pressed, racked from heavy solids, then 15% lees returned to tank to help build texture and grip, natural yeast, fermented at 17c in stainless steel, minimal sulphur added.

About Linear

Linear Wines is the personal project of Nathan Brown, whose path to winemaking began not in a cellar but in the kitchen, after more than a decade as a chef and restaurateur in Canberra.

A first vintage as a hands-on cellar hand in Murrumbateman in 2017 sparked a deep fascination with vineyards and the quiet precision of winegrowing, leading Nathan to formal study in wine science and, ultimately, the launch of his own label.

Today, Linear focuses on small-batch, thoughtfully made wines from carefully selected parcels across the Canberra District, Hilltops, Gundagai and Tumbarumba, with a strong emphasis on alternative varieties and food-friendly balance.

Guided by a chef’s instinct for flavour, seasonality and texture, and a deep respect for the growers he works with, Nathan’s wines are crafted to express the distinct heartbeat of each site and to be enjoyed at the table.
