About The Wine
Best GSM blend from the 2025 Young Gun of Wine Deep-dive into southern Rhone blends!
A regional blend from the Hilltops region of Canberra, where Shiraz takes the lead alongside Grenache and Mourvèdre - think of it as a reverse GSM. An enticing floral bouquet, plush red fruits, crunchy plums, blackberries and blood orange on the mid-weight palate with a dry and spicy finish. Such a joy to drink.
Crafted from fruit sourced across four distinctive vineyards (Grove, Moppitty, LRG, and Quarry Hill), this wine showcases the character of a challenging vintage marked by late budbreak, abundant spring rains, and fortunately dry conditions at harvest. The grapes underwent traditional whole-berry processing with daily plunging and extended maceration for 3-4 weeks, before spending 24 months aging in a combination of barriques and foudre.
About Ravensworth
Ravensworth began its journey in 2001 under the pretext that ‘It seemed like a good idea at the time’ a family affair these days with life- shackled-partners Bryan and Jocelyn Martin teaming up with the brother David Martin. The vineyard is managed under what they call natural forestry principles. They currently encourage lots of different plants that produce long tap roots to get established, find their place and hopefully become part of their forest.
