About The Wine
Jean Foillard's Morgon is as pure and captivating as Beaujolais gets. One of the iconic wines of contemporary France
Foillard’s rendition captures the wild cherry, mineral, and floral-tinged quality of the vineyard in an unparalleled way. He weaves silk into the texture and leaves a wine with haunting persistence and fragrance.
"Corcelette stands apart for its floral raciness—courtesy of its sandstone soil—contrasting beautifully with Côte du Py’s meaty depth and richness. Microscopic in production, Cuvée 3.14 elevates Gamay to its pinnacle; it is simply the ultimate in depth, elegance and nuance. Through ancient vines in one of the region’s greatest terroirs—and the winemaking of arguably its greatest producer—Cuvée 3.14 encapsulates all that Beaujolais can be."

Review
"The 2023 Morgon Côte du Py comes from several parcels of granite and schistous soils with many centurion vines. This has a wonderful, very complex bouquet with exquisite delineation: crushed stone filters through dark berry fruit alongside hints of ash and light stony scents. The sapid and vivacious palate has filigree tannins, a silver thread of acidity, and a touch of cracked black pepper towards the long finish. This is one of the best Morgon's you can buy...but that's old news".
