About The Wine
Intense, white florals and powdery, musk perfume. Fresh, white peach. Chalky texture underpinned by a long line of innate acidity and inherent minerality. Through the line of salivating acidy, there is softness and a supple roundness that makes this wine utterly delicious drinking.
In The Winery
Both crushed and whole clusters were pressed directly to stainless steel tanks for a natural settle of sediment. Following settle, a combination of spontaneous fermentation and commercial yeast were used to ferment in steel tanks. The wine spent around 8 weeks on lees prior to racking and sulphur addition. No fining agent was used. A further period on fine lees of more than a month, occurred prior to blending and filtration. Bottled September 2024.
In The Vineyard
This wine derives from a block planted in 2000/1 at the western edge of the original plantings. While the very top of this block tends to the ironstone-rich, gravelly ridge, most of the block shows a prevalence toward a rich, loam soil over its limestone base. These factors, coupled with a multitude of influences, micro-climactic and otherwise, yield an expression quite different to our original blocks. The wines originating from our loam dominant soils tend to be more open, generous and expressive, particularly as younger wines.
Review
Rating: 95 Points
"A very bright green gold. Aromatic with classic citrus fruits together with some white peach, ripe pear, orange blossom and jasmine. Mouth-wateringly juicy and delicious with an underlying, fine vein of acidity. It's super now and will continue to be so for quite some time. Yum." Halliday Wine Companion - Phillip Rich
