2025 Ochota Barrels 'Slint' Chardonnay

About The Wine

The Slint vineyard lies in the heart of the Piccadilly Valley at an altitude of 550m, grown by Sam Vigara. Planted in the 1980s, this vineyard provides the perfect conditions for growing cool climate chardonnay.

The aroma is reminiscent of granny smith apple and brown pear skins, with hints of grapefruit and bee's wax.  A taut and precise palate provides the foundation for nougat and manuka honey. A long and lingering elegant finish.

In the Adelaide Hills, Ochota Barrels creates wines that honor the memory of founder Taras Ochota, continuing his vision under the stewardship of Amber, Yari, and Louis.

These are wines born of intuition - grapes picked when they're irresistibly delicious, guided by natural acidity and wild fermentation. Old bush vines in living soil produce concentrated fruit that speaks for itself through minimal intervention winemaking.

Following Occam's Razor, they believe simplicity reveals truth. The result: gorgeous, authentic wines with none of the nasties and all of the love—a celebration of place, season, and the human spirit that tends the vines.
