About The Wine
The 2024 vintage marked a return to near 'normal' conditions at Cobaw Ridge- a warmer, drier growing season blessed with much-needed sunshine.
The result is a Chardonnay with that extra plushness and vibrancy, standing out as one of the most beautiful and expressive wines to date.
Crafted entirely from 100% estate-grown certified organic and biodynamic grapes, this Chardonnay was whole bunch pressed and fermented on near full solids. A slight addition of SO2 to the juice preceded an extended barrel fermentation, followed by full malolactic conversion.
The result is a wine that captures the enhanced generosity of the vintage while maintaining the elegance and finesse that defines Cobaw Ridge Chardonnay.
About Cobaw Ridge
Cobaw Ridge winery was established in 1985 by Alan and Nelly Cooper. Vines were planted on granitic, sandy soil in the cool climate Macedon Ranges, on the cusp of the Great Dividing Range at some 610m. Their positioning, in a natural amphitheatre, provides the perfect place to produce terroir-driven wines.
100% estate grown, they are now fully certified organic and biodynamic, something they are very proud of, and deservedly so.
