About the Wine

Estate-grown fruit (clones 2051, 8104, 8048, 114, 115, H7V15, 18GM) from 33-year-old dry-grown vines at the pint-sized Birchs Bay vineyard. Hand-harvested, open-top fermentation for 2 weeks with a small proportion of whole bunches (30%). Aged in seasoned French oak for 15 months before racking to tank for bottling.

Rory Duggan’s journey into winemaking was one of both serendipity and dedication. After university and years of travel, Rory found himself drawn to the world of grape growing, joining his uncle, Dirk, to tend to the vines at the family’s vineyard in Tasmania. Rory's deep connection to the land was forged through years of learning and hands-on experience in organic vineyard management, from canopy management to pruning and harvesting. Over time, his passion for wine led him to create wines that reflect both his own approach and the principles of his uncle. With a firm belief in sustainability and a holistic approach to winemaking, Rory's wines are crafted without additives, fining, or filtration, showcasing a pure, artisan style. His commitment to quality and character in each vintage is rooted in the land, which benefits from Tasmania’s cool climate and fertile soils. When the opportunity arose to manage a vineyard at Antipodes, Rory took it as the perfect moment to embark on his own winemaking journey. His wines, much like his path, are a blend of tradition, craftsmanship, and youthful energy, offering a vibrant complexity that speaks to his unique vision.

Important Delivery Information:

Same day deliveries must be received in person and cannot be left unattended.
Delivery drivers will refuse delivery to an intoxicated person.

Standard deliveries (not same day) are marked ‘Authority to Leave’ so our driver can leave the parcel in a safe place for you.
We will always do our best to find a safe place, however if the driver deems it unsafe to leave, your order will be returned to await further instructions from you, or in the case of Australia Post deliveries, the parcel will be taken to the nearest collection facility.
