About The Wine
A lovely Southern Rhone that punches well above its weight. A elegant perfumed nose with black fruit, red berries, leather and tobacco on the palate. Held together with rich but soft tannins. Definitely worth a decant if you have the time.
About Domaine Duseigneur
The Duseigneur family relocated to the Rhone Valley in the 1960’s from Algeria with great ambition. The patriarch Jean taking over some abandoned plots in the Lirac. Farming organically happened unintentionally as the family could not afford to purchase chemicals when they first started farming the land, this reason and the use of traditional farming methods led to a natural growth in health for the vineyard.
Now under the Stewardship of Jean’s son Bernard Duseigneur, the Domaine is home to 28ha of grapes with 9 hectares in Chateau Neuf du Pape. In 2022 the Domaine began practicing biodynamic techniques, gaining Ecocert certification three years later.
Domaine Duseigneur’s mission statement is ‘To receive and to pass on’ and follow the statement they do. Whether it be through the receiving of the aged vines ranging from 50-135 years old or the biodynamic practices that will allow the vineyards to be passed on for many generations to come.
