About The Wine
A beautifully complex Chianti. Intense floral, red fruit and spice aromas. The pallet is dense and packed with black cherry, raspberry and hints of vanilla. Tannins are abundant, fine and smooth and the finish is very long. A powerful but elegant wine.
The Chianti Rufina Riserva Bucerchiale is Selvapiana's flagship wine. First produced in 1979, this 100% Sangiovese wine comes from the estates best vineyard, with vines planted in 1968 and 1992 on clay/limestone soils. The wine is fermented with ambient yeast and spends around 15 months in French oak (10% new) before being bottled. Only made in good vintages, this is an extremely complex and structured Sangiovese that is capable of aging for 15+ years, yet still approachable on release.
