    About The Wine

Refreshing marmalade orange, candied fruits, pears, rich textural pallet with sweet fruits and subtle, mouthwatering tannins.

The 2024 is the fifth release of the Origin Arneis and the third instance of carbonic maceration–James seems to like the vibe, as do we!

Describing it as a relatively inert variety in its simplest form, James pushes the limits of picking dates and fermentation techniques to fully exploit the “wackiness and magic juju” that Arneis can express.

The fruit is from a secret site in McLaren Vale, sitting at 380 metres and facing north. The 22-year-old vines grow in soils of clay, quartz and ironstone. The fruit ferments carbonically for two weeks (expect an orange hue to the colour) before being racked to steel to rest on full lees for 11 months.

All Jauma Wines are Living Wines, made with zero additions or filtration, and bottled under crown seal for perfect freshness and stability.

    About Jauma

From leading sommelier to one of the quintessential natty wine makers in Australia. James Erskine and his team produce wines that speak purely of the grape and terroir of which they are farmed. This is achieved through minimal intervention, no new oak and minimal sulphur. We find Jauma’s wines range from fun and smashable to elevated and thought provoking.
