About The Wine
Barbera from d’Asti that is from nearly 50 year old vines. This cuvee spends around a month on skins and has a short amount of time in old botti - this is to keep the plump fruit weight in full view. The grapes are picked at optimal ripeness to retain the freshness and acidity that this variety is always known for. Bright and bountiful, be quick.
About Olek Bondonio
Olek Bondonio has quickly established himself as one of Barbaresco's most exciting producers. Raised at La Berchialla, his family's centuries-old farmhouse surrounded by some of the region's most celebrated vineyards, Olek took an unconventional path to winemaking, first making his name as a professional snowboarder before returning to his roots in the Langhe.
Today, he tends nearly seven hectares across Barbaresco's prized Roncagliette and Starderi crus, along with parcels in Neive, Altavilla, and the hills above Alba. His approach is refreshingly straightforward: organic farming with meticulous attention in the vineyards, paired with patient, unfussy work in the cellar. The wines that emerge are pure, profound expressions of Piedmont, decidedly classical in spirit, yet unmistakably alive.
