The estates most structured and concentrated wine. A floral, elegant bouquet with red cherries, wild strawberry, crushed stone & light rose petal scents. Medium-bodied, fine definition and persistent finish.
From a .5ha plot of vines aged from 48-63 years, planted on limestone-clay at a density of 10,000 vines/ha, bordering the Clos du Ducs. Grapes are destemmed, cold soaked for 1-2 weeks, then spontaneously fermented in stainless steel. Elevage lasts around 12-16 months in 228-l oak barrels before bottling. Pitures is located directly north of the village of Volnay. At 325m it is one of the steepest and most elevated Volnay 1er Cru sites, right on the border of Pommard.
