    About The Wine

This ever-changing blend comprises 75% Arneis, 15% Grenache and a smidge of Sauvignon Blanc this year. Juicy with tropical aromatics, red fruits and spice. Loves a chill!

Why Try So Hard has become a mainstay of the Jauma range, usually made by combining a selection of batches from a few of James’s preferred vineyards in any given year.

First made in 2013, the wine comes from Peter’s Creek vineyard in McLaren Vale, where the Arneis and Sauvignon sit on broken quartzite soils. The Grenache comes from the much-loved Lilies vineyard from the outside rows.

The Arneis and Grenache go through carbonic maceration for two weeks before pressing to tank.

It’s aromatic, juicy and spicy with lip-smacking structure.

    About Jauma

From leading sommelier to one of the quintessential natty wine makers in Australia. James Erskine and his team produce wines that speak purely of the grape and terroir of which they are farmed. This is achieved through minimal intervention, no new oak and minimal sulphur. Jauma’s wines range from fun and smashable to elevated and thought provoking.
