    About The Wine

A light bodied, elegant and delicious classic Chianti.

Sangiovese, with a small amount (5%) of Canaiolo and Colorino, planted on stony clay and limestone soils. At Selvapiana, all vines come from a massale selection of the Bucerchiale plot, widely regarded as the best vineyard in Rufina. Vines aged from 15 – 40 years planted on a Northwest facing slope at altitudes up to 980 ft. Fermentation with ambient yeast and maceration lasts 25 days in stainless steel, before aging in large French oak casks of 25hl for 10 months.

So much crushed-stone character here with citrus and black-cherry aromas. Medium-bodied with iodine and oyster-shell undertones to the blue fruit. Lemon rind at the end. Drink or hold. 93 Points - James Suckling
