About The Wine

A charming and fruity wine, aromatic and juicy with notes of tart cherry and pomegranate.

Anton sources the fruit for this wine from two organically farmed vineyards: Deanery in Balhannah and Jupiter Creek in Echunga. Both sites feature red clay soils, and vine age ranges from 15-30 years. The Mencía (from Deanery) accounts for two-thirds of the blend, with the balance Garnacha from Jupiter Creek. The fruit fermented carbonically for five days, and the wine matured in terracotta eggs.

When we think of natural wine in Australia, one of the first names that comes to mind is Anton van Klopper - and for good reason. Operating from a relatively small estate in Basket Range, South Australia, Anton crafts wines renowned for their complexity, raw authenticity, and uncompromising character. Anton approaches winemaking exactly as you'd hope: the antithesis to mass production. His philosophy encompasses every stage of the process - from organic farming and meticulous land stewardship to hand-harvesting fruit, wild yeast fermentation, and zero additives. His commitment to purity extends even to distilling his own alcohol for winery cleaning, eliminating any need for harsh chemicals throughout the entire operation.

Important Delivery Information:

Same day deliveries must be received in person and cannot be left unattended.
Delivery drivers will refuse delivery to an intoxicated person.

Standard deliveries (not same day) are marked ‘Authority to Leave’ so our driver can leave the parcel in a safe place for you.
We will always do our best to find a safe place, however if the driver deems it unsafe to leave, your order will be returned to await further instructions from you, or in the case of Australia Post deliveries, the parcel will be taken to the nearest collection facility.
