The 2022 release has aromas of star anise, blackberry and plum. On the palate; black cherries, pepper and spice with a concentration on delivering harmony. It is drinking beautifully in its youth, however will age stunningly if you let it.

Samuel’s Gorge make a Shiraz of balance, texture, nuance and complexity. This is achieved by using several unique vineyards from the region and with the considered use of whole bunch and old French oak.

About Samuel's Gorge

Samuel's Gorge represents a mosaic of dreams anchored by a philosophy of people and place. Founded by winemaker Justin McNamee in 2003, this distinctive winery commands breathtaking views of the Onkaparinga River National Park to the north and the ocean to the south, creating an inspiring backdrop where tradition meets imagination.

The wines of Samuel's Gorge are crafted entirely by hand, using time-honored techniques; indigenous yeasts and long slow ferments capturing the essence of each unique vintage. These aromatics-driven wines offer immediate pleasure with their texture, silkiness, and intrigue, yet possess the structural backbone to reward those who cellar them.
