Three stunning white wines that need to be in your Spring/Summer collection!
2019 Nikau 'Tolone' Riesling
Not what you imagine when you first hear riesling. This is pure, driven, clean and an acidity smacking of freshness. It is refined and elegant but has incredible structure and presence. Zero additions.
2020 Good Intentions 'Volcanic Lakes' Chardonnay
A real expression of the volcanic soils, this wine is really in concordance with Burgundy mineral chalkiness. Complex and textural with heaps of finesse due to a longer time spent ageing in oak. Zippy, fresh and energetic!
2021 Sigurd White Blend
Semillon (56%), Vermentino (20%), Viognier (14%), Muscat (8%), Chardonnay (2%). Part of the Vermentino was the first to be picked and allowed to ferment on skins for 14 days. Semillon picked in two stages, one for acid freshness and one for a fuller fruit spectrum. After pressing the skin fermented whites they were pressed into a 100 yr old oak Foudre (1600L) where it stayed until bottling. Tiny amount of sulfur added at bottling. Precision and drinkability.
A stunning selection sure to impress.
