The wine blends fruit from the Taccione and Sciaranuova vineyards, where vines between 15 and 75 years old grow in pure volcanic rock and sand. Composed of 90% Nerello Mascalese and 10% Nerello Cappuccio, the vineyards are worked entirely by hand without irrigation or chemical treatments.

The varieties were hand-harvested and co-fermented with indigenous yeasts, then matured for 19 months in French oak vessels of various sizes and glass containers. The wine was bottled without fining, stabilisation or filtration, with only a small addition of sulphur.

Wild strawberry, cranberry and sour cherry rise from the glass, joined by warm herbs, smoke and crushed volcanic rock.
