Description
About The Wine
Made in a light, bright and fruit forward style, with the explicit intension of proving how delicious single varietal Merlot can be!
Hand-harvested fruit is fermented in stainless steel, with approximately 40% whole bunches. After 12 days on skins it was pressed to French oak barriques and matured for 8 months.
This wine has bright detailed fruit, good tension and fine tannins. It's highly drinkable on it's own, and great with food.
About Lauren
Lauren Langfield Wines focuses on wines of purity, expression of terroir and high drinkability. Lauren studied viticulture and oenology in New Zealand and chose to focus on the craft of organic and biodynamic viticulture, and low intervention winemaking.
After moving to Australia, she worked for five years managing Bill Downie’s estate vineyard, Guendulain Farm, and consulting on organic and biodynamic viticulture for others in Gippsland. From here Lauren moved to the Adelaide Hills and worked for BK Wines for 4 years, before deciding it was time to start her own label - Lauren Langfield Wines in 2021, and taking on the role of head winemaker at Orbis Wines in McLaren Vale.
