An homage to Mic, owner of our home vineyard, who unabashedly adores his Merlot. And good on him, because we love it too. Though not farmed by us this year, we happily picked delicious, flavourful fruit that was destemmed and fermented for two weeks, with daily hand plunging, pressed to tank, then transferred to old hogsheads. It’s resulted in a slippery, lithe rendition framed by crisp acids and grippy tannins, and unfurls with sour cherry, blood plum, twiggy earth, and dried herbs.
