Songs from Mars is Forlorn Hope’s antipodean alter-ego. It all began with a boon of fruit Matt Rorick happened upon when working vintage in the Barossa Valley in 2017. Now for the third trip around the sun, we happily greet their return:
Grown on Bowyer Ridge Vineyard in the Adelaide Hills, at 450 meters elevation. The ‘ramato’ style of wine has a long history in the northeastern wine growing regions of Italy, where the term ‘ramato’ was coined to denote the colour of the finished wine (‘copper’ in Italian).
We love skin contact Gris. Such a delicious perfume on the wine. Lots of spice and preserved fruit. Slightly herbal too. The acid is nice and fresh and theres a kiss of tannin.
