Notes from winemaker James Madden:
Grenache grown a stones throw from Maslin Beach. Grown on super sandy
light free draining soils, with cooling afternoon winds from the Indian
Ocean. All the fruit was de-stemmed and open top fermented. Daily gentle
depressing of the cap was all that was done to ensure gentle extraction.
Pressed early to minimise colour and tannin and capture the crazily
bountiful aromatics. Quiet time spent in 7 year old french oak barriques.
Bottled mid spring.
