This is a collaborative project between winemkaer Dario Serrentino of Mortellito and importer QuelVino. Dario believes that the desert-like calcareous & limestone soils of Val di Noto and the cool night air help temper alcohol; giving freshness and a lifted brightness and tension to his wines. For years Dario sold off his grapes to Sicilian natural wine gods like Frank Cornelissen and only just started to vinify his own grapes in 2014.
Lovely interplay of dark and red fruits mingling here. Tartness comes from bramble and blackcurrant leaf adds a savoury touch. Bright Red plums bring more freshness and fruit into the fold. A touch of tea brings some sweetness akin to Rooibos. Plush texture with grippy acidity and smooth Saline finish. Pair with a light mushroom dish or your favourite burger!
