For several generations, the Berthier family has farmed their vineyards in central Loire Valley.
In 1998 the Estate grew with the takeover of the Domaine de Montbenoit in the Coteaux du Giennois, inherited from Jean Marie’s grandfather’s vineyard. Clément, a former cellar master in the USA, is now devoted to winemaking and marketing. Florian, with his experiences in Burgundy and New Zealand, manages the vineyard. The vines grow on clay-limestone soil, grapes are hand-harvested then delicately pressed.
The bouquet is lush and seductive, blackcurrants, cherries n berries, and lovely earthy tones. The palate coats the mouth with delicious mixed berries and silky, polished tannins. This wine would look extra-smart laying down for a year or two.
