Sam is an exciting force in Australian wine, a staunch proponent of progressive farming and zero addition winemaking, he is methodical and dedicated to purity and precision. Sam returned home to Margaret River for the 2015 vintage after years abroad working in California and Sicily, notably for Etna guru Frank Cornelissen.
This is a light red wine or a dark rosé wine, or a red/white wine depending on how you view it. The acidity and texture give the feel of drinking a white wine but with the red-fruited, mid-palate weight of a red. These blends can be jarring but this wine is so well executed that two very distinct grapes, Shiraz and Sauvignon blanc feel harmoniously enmeshed into a new uniquely delicious wine.
