Kindeli is the project of Australian born, Alex Craighead; making living wines from Organically farmed grapes. Having worked for conventional winemakers, Alex felt the only way to take a truly hands-off approach to winemaking would be to do it himself. Kindle, meaning 'of nature' is a dedicated zero added S02 label. Some of Alex's Kindeli wines play around with extended skin-contact and alternative maturation which produce chewy and interesting wines and the aim of this project is to produce living wines that highlight the terroir of Nelson.
The Riesling for La Lechuza is grown on Moutere Gravels and Clay. The wine is crisp, dry and textural, showcasing tropical fruit; pineapple and green apple. Some pear notes in there too. Crunchy and gluggy, this one won't take long to finish. Unfined, unfiltered, undisgorged.
