The Gentle Folk winery is situated in the Basket Range of the Adelaide Hills where they try to intervene as little as possible in the growing and making of their wines. They farm a number of small parcels in Basket Range, Forest Range, Norton Summit, Summertown and Ashton. They don’t like to define their styles or winemaking techniques, but just make wine in the way they feel is right for the grapes and season and most importantly, with maximum drinkability and enjoyment in mind. Syrah from the Ngeringa farm in Mt Barker. Grown by the genius Erinn Klein. No tricks, just whole bunches trodden by feet for a few weeks, pressed to old puncheons and rested over winter.
The wine greets you with a light ruby colour. Dark floral notes on the notes and some light fresh turned soil aromas as well as black cherry. The palate is light and fresh, with more black cherry, plum and tobacco spice to follow. Light, tea-like tannins and a soft finish. Enjoy this wine with Lamb Gyros for the perfect combination.
