Didier Grappe is a cult producer who makes high energy, zero so2 wines from a very small vineyard surface in Saint Lothian.
His Savagnins made in the ouillé (topped up) style are renowned for purity, length and electric acidity.
Traminer is a mutation of Savagnin (or perhaps vice versa) that has populated the Alps regions for centuries. Grappe has isolated the Traminer vines, which have a similar green berry but slightly different leaf, and propogated them into a single parcel which makes up this wine. Similar hallmarks of high acid, lemon and hay that constitute the Grappe style can be found here.
