Arpepe is a family that has been dedicated to the cultivation of Nebbiolo for over 150 years. Waiting for the right time to harvest the fruit, which has always been done by hand due to the nature of the alpine Valtellina area.
It is a requirement for Rosso di Valtellina that it must be matured for 6 months in large oak. The wine is macerated for 130 days on skins in large wooden vats. It is a light hearted wine, with delicate aromas and a subtle demeanour on the palate albeit very expressive.
Alpine freshness, wintergreen herbal notes, fresh strawberry and raspberry with very fine tannins. Tart cherry acidity and a beautifully long finish.
