Good Oil is our first collaboration wine bottled for Act Of Wine. This edition is from a hallowed vinyard between Gruyere and Woori Yallock in the Yarra Valley. The vines are managed with meticulous organic farming and no chemical or winemaking inputs. The idea is a pure and drinkable wine from local Victorian terroir. Unfiltered and bottled with a tiny amount of sulfur.
70% Shiraz, 30% Pinot Noir from a cool Upper Yarra site. This kind of blend is reliant on the Shiraz for spice and fruit, whereas the Pinot does the earthy work. Medium-bodied, soft tannins and medium acidity. Aromatically dense and silky on the palate, it’s a red that has enough flavour punch to go with wintery meat dishes but is light enough to be had all year round.
