Marc Castan founded Domaine Mămărutá in 2009. Marc has spent a lot of time in the vineyards to improve the health and quality of the vines and soil. He uses natural compost, herbal preparations, and plows to remove weeds. Marc harvests early so as to preserve acidity and ensure alcohol levels are not too high. The wines are made without additions and S02 use is minimal and in some cases, non-existent.
Frosty chilled strawberries and raspberry slushy aromas. Slightly reductive initially, but clears with air and reveals expressive aromas. Clean and lifted, delicate petals. A touch of sweetness, nice texture, not harsh in any way like so many rosés. Some nice tannins and tension in the back palate give it extra interest. The way the texture is delivered is something else.
