Les Petites Mises are based just to the northwest of Beziers in the Languedoc region of Southern France. Nathalie and Etienne farm four hectares with some over their vines over 100 years old. Their land has also been farmed organically for over 30 years.
The grapes for their wines are fermented in upturned oak barrels before maturation in glass demijohns; very cool! The wines are made with zero additions.
Rouge is a blend of Carignan, Syrah and a dash of Macabeu (5%). The wine is rich and concentrated on the nose with some dark fruits and some sour red fruit notes also. The palate is bright with a hint of ginger spice and a decent whack of tannin.
