Cantina Indigeno Wild Wine has broken into our borders! It’s the project of 3 friends with a deep love for their land that exploded on the Italian wine scene in 2016.
Indigeno’s vineyards are planted on a mix of sand and clay, ranging from 100m ASL in a vineyard that faces the Adriatic Sea and up to 400m ASL at the foot of the Gran Sasso. All grapes are organically farmed and in the cantina, it’s spontaneous fermentation, indigenous yeasts, no temperature control, no filtration and absolutely zero additions. They utilize a combination of stainless steel, fibreglass and Terracotta amphora. Vinification is approached with an experimental spirit that best suits the fruit presented in each vintage. From year to year, each Cuvee has changed according to this idea.
These are expressive wines that are alive, low in alcohol and importantly serve up dizzying drinkability! Fun but serious, they are full of old school charm with a nod to the future.
Hand-harvested. Fermented on indigenous yeasts. 18 days maceration on skins. Ageing: Steel for 11 months and a short period in bottle before release.
