Vino di Anna was created in 2010 by Anna Martens and Eric Narioo. They now own several hectares of old vine Nerello Mascalese, which they farm organically. They purchased an old winery and Palmento in 2010 which they have restored. All wines are made with minimal intervention, indigenous yeasts, no additives, no fining or filtering and little or no SO2 additions. A variety of fermentation vessels are used; a traditional Etnean palmento, stainless steel, wood and qvevri. The unique luminosity of these mountainous vineyards and the variable, decomposed lava soils give the wines a distinct minerality and sapidity.
Vibrant ruby red in colour, this wine has attractive cherry and wild strawberries aromas with underlying floral notes. The palate is fresh and flavoursome with soft, juicy tannins.
