The Canary Islands is one of the most extreme winemaking regions in all of Europe. The island of Tenerife is where you’ll find vineyards situated on the slopes of El Teide, the highest mountain in Spain. This is also where you’ll find Jonatan Garcia Lima. 9 hectares of vinyards which has taken him over 25 years to assemble. The isolation of the Canary Islands has meant that phylloxera has never invaded there so all vines are grown on their original roots as opposed to phylloxera resistant rootstocks.
A smoky and granitic aroma initially, which blows away to display a perfume of cranberries and sweet red fruits. The palate is elegant but generous. Juicy and bright fruits with a hint of white pepper. Dusty tannins and a long, cool finish.
