Chardonnay from a lieu-dit called En Arce – 30 year-old vines grown on silty marl. Aged for 8 months on fine lees, then bottled, and aged for another 18 months. 5gm dosage. Zero SO2. The following notes come from Ryan Larkin. Wow, it doesn't get much better than this for Crémant - Champagne lovers take a look too. Pears, almonds and sea breeze on the nose. Almost feels quite chalky too. Slight autolytic notes, but that salty freshness sits above it all. Firm bubbles, nice acidity, and super fresh in the mouth. Quite salty on the palate, and very zesty, with hints of lime and green apple. Great linear texture, and incredibly well put together. You don't notice the dosage, because everything is so well integrated, and perfectly balanced against the acidity. Beautiful length, just pure class! You can keep this open for a few days and the wine stays strong, including the bubbles. A wine that will impress amateurs and professionals alike.
